Aena has boosted its profits at the end of the third quarter, obtaining a net result of 944 million and an increase of 47.8%. The company explains its strong growth by the continued improvement of the business, fueled by the tourist pull of Spain, and theextraordinary reversal of interestprovisions associated with claims for expropriation of land at Madrid's Barajas airport. Excluding the latter effect, the result would be 790.7 million, an increase of almost 24%.

The network of airports managed by the public company handled 178.6 million passengers (189.7 million if Luton is included) in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 10.8% compared to the first three quarters of 2015. International traffic set a record for the period at 126.2 million passengers.
